[00:00:29] Oubliette, Minnesot. Hello patrons, happy new year and welcome to our first Minnesota of 2025, Dan. Yeah, yeah, I know. And it's a different one. It's quite a fun idea, I think, which was a suggestion from the patrons that we cover the sequel to the film that we did on the main feed. Yeah. And I love that idea. That's really fun. Yeah, that is a great idea.

[00:00:59] Yeah, I mean, I do like doing sequels on the show as well, but maybe some of the sequels aren't so fantastic. I wonder what you could possibly be alluding to, Dan. So, yes, sorry, without further ado, Bud the Chud, Chud 2. Yes.

[00:01:22] What's the 1989 zombie teen comedy film directed by David Irving, brother of Amy Irving. Okay. Who we've come across in The Fury and is famous for things like Carrie, I guess. Oh, okay. And also was Steven Spielberg's wife at one point.

[00:01:44] Written by Ed Naha, although he is taking a pseudonym of M. Cain Reeves. Okay. Presumably, I think the director suggests that maybe it was because he'd had a huge hit with Honey, I Shrunk the Kids in 1988 with Stuart Gordon. Okay. And possibly didn't want to be associated with this when it came out. Right. I wonder why. I wonder why.

[00:02:13] And starring, well, it's just a ridiculous cast. You've got Brian Robbins and Bill Calvert as our two male leads, Steve and Kevin, the most 80s teenage names ever. Of course. Brian Robbins' career as an actor did not take off, but he's currently the chief executive of Paramount Pictures. So that worked out okay. Yeah. Yeah. He's a pretty renowned producer now. He is. Yeah.

[00:02:43] He's done pretty well. He's fine. He doesn't have the curly mullet anymore. No. And life improved. Trisha Lee Fisher is their friend Katie. Hmm. And Trisha Fisher is Carrie Fisher's half-sister? Same father, I think. Oh, really? Wow. I did not know that. You can kind of see it. Yeah. Same dad, Eddie Fisher. Gerrit Graham as Bud, Bud the Chud.

[00:03:12] And you've got this whole cast of like guest stars. Robert Vaughn, the man from UNCLE. Yes. We met him in Battle Beyond the Stars. Battle Beyond the Stars, yes. As a colonel who is responsible for a military secret operation to create Chuds for super soldiers. And yeah, loads of other people that we'll get to, I'm sure. Yeah. But it's amazing. But the premise is totally different.

[00:03:41] The premise is as, it's almost as if this was like supposed to be a zombie sequel and they suddenly just last minute thought, hey, hey, hey, let's just, let's just throw Chud in the title. And we'll just throw in a couple of scenes where we mentioned Chud. But this has nothing to do with Chud whatsoever. First of all, it's seen in a small town. It's not New York. There's no sewers to be seen.

[00:04:11] No. You don't have the monstrous, crazy mutations that you have in Chud 1 with the glowing eyes or the big teeth or just the sort of demonic monster look. They literally just look like zombies in this movie with sharp teeth. And yeah, just like bad makeup. And even the sort of how they become Chuds is different. So in Chud 1, it's toxic waste that is mutating these people.

[00:04:41] It's contaminating these people. And this, it's a drug or something or a disease or something that they infect other people by biting them. It sounds like they're biting into an apple every time as well, which is a strange sound effect to use. So it's like, it is very, very different. It is literally a repurposed zombie movie script into Chud 2.

[00:05:17] Ministers.
